Problem:

How to lock IE default Web Page

Description: 

This is a procedure on how to lock the IE default page, so it doesn’t get changed by casual users.  Tested on Windows XP only … don’t know if it works on other OS’s.         

Root Cause:

Not Applicable

Solution: 

It requires a registry change.  Here are the changes.

To Lock:

 

REGEDIT4

[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Policies\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Control Panel]

"Homepage"=dword:00000001

 

To Unlock

 

REGEDIT4

[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Policies\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Control Panel]

"Homepage"=dword:00000000
